Video effects

Video effects, Mostly every popular video uses effects from negative to other weird effects but honestly i enjoy this video's effects. This video has effects that i rarely see and it involves some action  based effects such as shock waves, energy risers and mist. The angling of the camera in the video is from low to high which creates this action-e sort of feel, this video is a very creative one which is why i like it.

If i were to make a video i would actually consider some of these effects, none of the video's i've seen recently have used such effects.  I think they are hard to apply but if applied correctly it may become a great video.I highly rate this video and i highly rate this b-boy.

Breaking in my life

 Right now i've been b-boying for a year and five months, honestly it's difficult but at the same time i strive to become better. As a b-boy improvement is editing your style, finding what moves sought me and practicing until im able to use those moves. I started breaking in the summer of 2011 and over the years i've had problems mainly knee injuries but in spite I kept practicing, right now it is march 20, 2013 and i am currently injured. I hope i can recover from this injury because i love breaking and wouldn't want to lose it, Breaking is now apart of my life.

Practicing is trial and error, you practice until you can do the move correctly and you aim to be one of the dopest around. Even having a mentor like i do it is difficult to learn moves perfectly and use them as you wish but that all comes with practice.  Their are many aspects and things you can do in this style of dance, acrobatics, beat hitting and of course the occasional joking around. I still have yet to figure out what my style of dance revolves around, i enjoy fundamentals and basics but i also enjoy the rhythm hitting and power moves. If i can continue my breaking career hopefully i can find out what my true style is. 

TopRock

Toprock is one of the key parts of B-boying or breaking, whatever you want to call it but like I stated Toprock is a main in b-boying. Toprock is the standing part of b-boying its a bunch of steps you use to follow the music when you dance, which then corresponds to musicality. musicality or rhythm is basically the ability to listen to the music and pick up the beat, once you pickup the beat you hit most of it by using Toprock . Toprock display's your style aggressive, flow-e whatever you want to throw into your toprock can be add because it is your toprock.

Many dancers devote a lot of time on toprock, taking steps from house, using martial arts, flexibility when it comes down to it toprock is your pride. Toprock is what you do as a b-boy, You cant call yourself a b-boy or b-girl and not do toprock. Toprock is only a b-boy thing you cant get toprock anywhere this video explains the concept very well. 

  

City Slickers/ Solo Project Idea

A film or video of 2 minutes or so, about b-boying. Nothing is said just dancing with several b-boys i choose this video because my mentor and several dancers i know are in it. Also it relates to how i want to do my project, the video contains very little editing but some effects the shows the ability of the filmer himself. I dont want my film project to be filled with editing because in all actuality it makes the people in the film look so crappy.

I say it makes the people in it look crappy because heavy editing means that the way that they look is kinda lame. Same applies to the voice thing, heavy editing to the voice means you freaking suck, I want the film to be as raw as possible. So whether it be a music video, Dance video or skate video i want it to be raw people tend to over look raw videos but i think the raw videos show the true talent of the people. Thats why i find this video "city slickers" important it shows talent, but it shows little editing but also the ability of the filmer in a small amount of editing.

Acoustic Music

Acoustic music is named after the instrument used in it which is the acoustic guitar or any other acoustic instrument. SO Anything electric etc is not acoustic for your information, usually a soft tone of music but it can be fast paced. My group team based our project on this type of music cause we do have ties to this type of music so of course its easy. One of the group members wrote a song, the other played along and that was what the project revolved around that song.

Many play the acoustic guitar, i did as well so this project relates to me as well. Acoustic music can be violins though it is acoustic many amplify the sound using electric amplifiers sort of contradicting i know. Do to the low sound it is needed because in a room full of 600 you wouldn't be able to hear a single strum thats why they do that. Personally i enjoy acoustic music but I prefer rock a lot more because of the tempo, the sound and of course the lyrics.

 

Planet B-boy

As you know I am a b-boy myself, I enjoy the b-boy topic and anything in that category which leads me to this film. Planet b-boy a documentary on several b-boy crews and the individual b-boys in those crews, basically showing the lives of b-boys. This film is exposing this predicament because yes they are famous but they are not gaining any money.They are living in poverty and this shows their dream winning BOTY which is a Boy tournament of sorts. BOTY stands for Battle Of The Year, Their are different sections to this, performances and battles to see who's the best. B-boys dont have it easy, we dont make much money unless your a hitter on the streets or if you have gigs such as movies and parties. Most b-boys want to go to BOTY to prove their the best crew, but its difficult when you have to work and have a family. The hardships of a B-boy, we are also people and go through a lot but strive to become better and achieve tour goals thats what this film shows.

Screamo for a film?

For the film, me and my Crew mates decided on doing one portion on screamo which is a type of music. A sub category of rock to be more accurate harcore punk, screamo utilizes the screaming aspect in rock. As a fellow screamo listener i believe this would be a good idea to base the film off of because my whole crew is full of musicians aswell as myself and we enjoy screamo. It was pretty obvious that we would pick a topic for our film that relates to us the most because who knows music better then musicians.  The way we plan to do our video is kind of uncertian but we will make it so they blend in well.

Our goal with this film is to expose screamo to many people, or at least to make them understand why others like it. Screamo has helped people because some screamo can relate to peoples lives, and surprisingly it is calming so we're just working on showing people this. That is basically what screamo is and what we plan to do with this music form.
